How to Get more Clarity Now

Alice’s greatest adventure began when she woke up from Wonderland.  That’s when her real journey started.  You don’t get a true vision of what your life can be until you start living the kind of life you want.  Once you begin moving in the direction that you desire, you can begin to see further and more clearly than ever before.  It’s like waking up from a dream and climbing out of the rabbit hole.

You don’t realize this, but your vision's clouded from years of inaction and false beliefs.  You don’t know what is available to you because you don’t believe that you are capable of achieving it.  Once you get clear on what you want and begin to take action, you begin to see that the possibilities are endless.  As you drop the restraints of other people’s expectations, your own limiting beliefs, and your narrow parameters defining happiness, you realize that there's more than one way forward.  It’s like being set free from prison only to realize that the cell door was never locked.

Maybe you’ve always dreamed of living in Paris.  But deep down you know that it isn’t possible.  Normal people don’t just move around the world… do they?  Is that true?  Or have you just convinced yourself that you could never leave your parents and culture?  Have you convinced yourself that you could never leave your current job and find a new one in France?  Have you convinced yourself that you would be lonely in a foreign culture?  Have you convinced yourself that it will always remain a dream?  Would it be impossible to live in Paris for one year?

What if you found a way to thrive without your parents?  What if you changed your belief and viewed a new culture as an incredible opportunity for personal growth?  What if you did a hard search for new work abroad and were comfortable waiting tables for that year?  What if you realized that you had a friend who has the same interest and you won't be alone?  As you begin to take steps to make this dream a reality, you begin to see that you can do far more than what you had previously determined.  You realize that you are the greatest limitation for yourself.

I picked Paris out of the proverbial hat.  Maybe you have limiting and false beliefs about your level of income.  Maybe you’ve believed the lie that you’ll never find a deeply intimate and fulfilling relationship.  Maybe you’ve just always told yourself that you can’t be an artist or writer.  Maybe you CAN build your own business and be your own boss.  If other people have done it then you can too.

Most people will tell you you’re crazy.  They’ll tell you half-truths like, ‘you should just be grateful for what you do have.’  Don’t listen to those people and for God’s sake, don’t tell them your dreams.  Find the few that are already living their dreams and share with them yours.  Those people know what’s what.  They will encourage you and give you tips.  They’ll show you how to move forward in the direction you want.  They’ll show you that the impossible is only impossible because you deemed it so from the beginning.

There are only two questions that you need to ask yourself at this point.  What do you want and what are you willing to do about it.  Wake up from the dream and climb out of the rabbit hole.

“Infuse your life with action. Don’t wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen... yourself, right now, right down here on Earth.” – Bradley Whitford

“The path of least resistance and least trouble is a mental rut already made. It requires troublesome work to undertake the alternation of old beliefs.” – John Dewey

“If you accept a limiting belief then it will become truth for you.” – Louise Hay
